The Wade & Esew Families

Donation protected
**UPDATE** Thanks to those that have already donated, we have SURPASSED our original goal which is amazing!!  We have now been given names of multiple other families in need of assistance, that we will continue to place. Read below for additional details.  Thank you again to everyone who has already donated!**

Elisa and James Wade, along with their children (ages 7 & 17) and Elisa's mother, were residents of the North Nashville area.  In last weeks tornado, they lost everything.  Both Elisa and James work full time to support their household and have been residents of their former home for 10 years.

We were connected with this sweet family to help them get back on their feet and were able to locate and secure one of the very few available three bedroom apartments in the surrounding area.  Along with having to get everything they owned replaced, the new rental rate is $350 more per month than they were previously paying.  We invite you to join us in helping this family as we try to raise enough money to cover this difference in rent for two years along with replacing necessities such as clothing, pantry supplies, furniture etc.  As mentioned above, we have surpassed the original goal for this family!

We have also been connected with Melanie Esew.  Melanie was found after the storms, sleeping in her van with 5 family members- her daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren.  Their former apartments were right next to each other on 16th Avenue and suffered extensive damage. Melanie is a full time employee at TJ Maxx in Bellevue and works extremely hard to help support her children and grandchildren.   Her car was also damaged and is currently being repaired.  In order to have somewhere for her family to sleep, she rented the van at $40/day and they have been sleeping in it since.  We have already been able to cover the cost of the van rental, but hope to be able to offer them assistance with finding a place to stay and replacing the many items they lost in the storm.

There are many organizations doing great work in Nashville and we know many of you may have already donated where you have felt led.  However, if you do have anything to contribute, these families would be eternally grateful.  If you are unable to give financially, but would like to donate clothing, supplies or furniture, please reach out to [email redacted].
