Elijah Duenes

Elijah Duenes is a fun, loving 17 year old senior at London High. Elijah is one of the most loving and caring individual we know. He spends most of days hanging out with friends, working as a designer, or helping family whenever needed. During the month of September, Elijah was involved in a near fatal accident, in which he was struck on the driver side by a vehicle traveling 65 to 70mph. It is by the grace of God that he has survived, but it did not come without a fight. Elijah endured traumatic injuries to his lungs as well as almost every vital organ except for his heart and brain. After multiple surgeries and heart wrenching procedures, Elijah has spent his last 21 days recovering at Christus Spohn Shoreline under the care of some of the most amazing people in medicine. Each day he gains strength both physically and spiritually and is looking forward to the days ahead. Although the family is fortunate to have medical coverage there are still so many unforeseen expenses on the road to recovery for Elijah. Together with family and friends, we have started this gofundme to help with the recovery and aid in those expenses. We thank all who have spent so much of their personal time helping, praying, and caring for Elijah and his family. So many have encouraged Elijah in so many ways. It has truly been a blessing to witness. We appreciate the support that everyone has shown.
