In Loving Memory of Eli William Beecher

Eli William Beecher, 29 years young, devoted father and husband, spent his last night of his life cheering on the Seattle Seahawks next to a warm, wood burning stove of his Beacon Falls home.  His almost full-term pregnant wife, Natalie Beecher, a loyal Greenbay Packers fan, genourously served the routine Sunday night football spread of sweet, juicy buffalo wings and extra-loaded, crispy potato skins to him and their 2 growing young daughters Abigail and Sophia Beecher. Natalie had great pleasure in expressing her wishes for a big rivalry win that night! With their first son on the way- football games grew to be an even more serious event in the Beecher home. In fact, being that the Seattle Seahawks were playing against the Greenbay Packers that very evening- Eli's wife humorously decorated the new baby-to be's carseat in a custom-fitted Packers caboodle for good luck! It's moments like these when you think nothing could ever break a family; not a financial bill, not work-related stress, not even a senseless argument.

My name is Lyndsay and I am Eli's sister-in-law. I met Eli in highschool back in `2005. He was the redneck boy from Guilford that dangled a heart-shaped keychain out of the backseat window of a school bus, begging my sister, Natalie, to go out with him as she was the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. Eli fell in love with my sister the day he met her, even though he waited 4 years before that for my sister to beleive it. I am first witness to her falling in love- indefinite love, to Eli. I read the love notes, I cupped my ear on the dividing wall of our bedrooms to eavesdrop on their late night phone calls. I was her partner-in-crime to skip first period class to grab a $0.99 breakfast at Ikea down the road with Eli, because the two sickenly "missed eachother" overnight. I witnessed these highschool sweethearts tranistion to husband and wife, and shortly after to "Mommy and Daddy." If there is one thing I remember most vividly growing up with them- it was their undenying support for one another. They were best friends before ever being "one" and I truly believe their love as friends is what kept their marriage strong throughout life's declaring moments.

Sunday, December 11th, 2016 was the last time my sister Natalie kissed Eli goodnight. That Sunday was the last night Eli's daughters Abby and Sophia giggled as Daddy called out to them, "Night, night. Don't let the bedbugs bite." That was the last night Eli laid his hand on his wife's stomach to feel his unborn son, Ryan, kick rambunctiously in the womb. That night was the last night The Beecher family was unharmed, unbroken, and whole.

In the first hour of Monday, December 12th, 2016 my sister found Eli breathless, motionless, lifeless in their downstairs bathroom.

As first responders urgently flooded their Beacon Falls driveway and medical personnel unremittingly tried to revive this beloved young father- Eli was pronounced dead at 2:22am on Monday, December 12th, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital, Waterbury, Connecticut. On that snowy, cold, December morning- I held my widowed sister as she bewailled goodbye to her lifelong- best friend and husband, Eli William Beecher.

Within the first 24 hours, Eli's wife Natalie returned home to delicately inform two blossoming young girls that their Daddy was off to Heaven with the angels. They discussed how Santa would help bring Daddy his gifts this year for them, how they will still celebrate Daddy's 30th birthday next year in his honor, and how as long as they talk to Daddy through prayer- he will always hear them. Within the first 48 hours after Eli's passing, I painfully held my sister's hand as she made funeral arrangements and provided a short synopsis of Eli's life to a funeral director, in preparation for an Obituary announcement. I was barely holding myself together- how in the world was my sister still standing?

It was probably 6 hours after finalizing the arrangements for Eli's memorial services when Natalie's water unexpectantly broke. Stress, dehydration, and a tenacious little boy brought Natalie into an early labor at 36 weeks pregnant. Not more than 16 hours after losing her husband, Eli and Natalie's precious son Ryan Andrew welcomed this world on angel's feet. Where there is great love, there is always a miracle and we truly believe Eli sent us our beautiful baby Ryan, knowing how desparately this family needed him.

There has been an outpouring of support in Eli's hometown of Beacon Falls for which the Beecher family is overwhelmed and grateful. Many people have expressed an interest in wanting to help. Our families would like to ease some of Natalie's financial burden by offering a fundraiser. Aside from the staggering living expenses, the family is without any future life coverage for Abigail, 9, Sophia, 5, and Ryan (born 12/13/16).

I am hopeful our community, our family, friends and neighbors will help support the Benefits of Eli's angels. Despite the holidays, the family's needs will continue to grow and change. Any amount of donation to help reach our goal is overwhelmingly appreciated, more than words can ever express..

Please pray for Eli, his wife Natalie and their tenderfoot children. The Beechers are an exceptional family who have always given back to their community, their neighbors and their friends. Now it's our turn....
