Eliana’s Medical Expenses.

Donation protected
My name is Jylene Battistini-Colon, On (12/13/23), i’ve received an update regarding what’s going on with Eliana so they had to put her under anesthesia and do an MRI to find out what’s going on so after waiting patiently for hours and being so overwhelmed and worried, I finally got news that she has a joint infection and the infection had spread to her bone and now what they want to do is take fluid from the area and clean the bone, and send it off to labs and see what kind of bacteria it is so that they can figure out what kind of treatment plan to start for her. I’ve created this GoFundMe for Eliana and I because I won’t be able to return back to work until everything is okay with my baby girl, So whatever is donated, we’d greatly appreciate it. Everyone has been so supportive and so kind with all of your prayers I wouldn’t be able to get through any of this if i didn’t believe in the power of prayer

So as most of you know, Sunday we took her to the hospital because she had a really high fever 103.9 to be exact, they swabbed her and said it was coronavirus that she had (we went to martin south and they suck!) and then 24 hours after being told she has corona I noticed that she wasn’t moving her arm as much, but she was moving her fingers and hand but wouldn’t budge to lift her arm, so my sister came over and went to go wash her up for me to break her fever THAT SHE STILL HAD, as my sister is washing her, she went to go lift her arm up and she started screaming hysterically, so when I grabbed her I went to a dry her off and she did the same thing so then I noticed that her shoulder was a little bit swollen and so my sister and I went to the hospital took her in (we went to martin north they’re were some what helpful), but nothing wasn’t dislocated or broken, nothing was wrong! so after being told that they wanted to run some blood work because since she has a virus they told me that the virus could spread to the bones or anywhere in the body that it’s not supposed to be, and can cause a bacterial infection due to the virus because it can happen.

UPDATE (01/ 04/ 24), The update on how Eliana is doing is that she developed septic arthritis in her left shoulder and a bone infection due to salmonella. She’s has undergone three surgeries so far and her recent surgery (12/31/23) was to have a clean out because the bacteria spread more and fluid was built up back into that area, but soon she will be going to be back under for her fourth surgery in a couple more weeks. Eliana has had to have a blood transfusion and her liver and kidneys were inflamed due to all of the surgeries which has been hard for me as a parent to watch her go through. Her and I have missed the holidays spending time with our family, I have been out of work for about three weeks now and me and my husband are struggling financially due to the situation going on with my daughter, God has been truly testing me throughout this entire trial, but I haven’t given up on my faith and even though it’s been very difficult for me to watch my 8 month old go through such trauma. I just asked for strength because it’s been very difficult for us.

Update(1/18/24): We have great news! so as you know Eliana has been through so much, but she has been smiling through everything, we have a release date which is going to be on the 23rd, the journey of her recovering is still going, after we are released she will have to follow up in 2 weeks to check on how she is doing, a piece of her growth plate was broken off due to her bone being so infected and so she will have to continue with physical therapy until further notice, Ellie will also have to follow up with an immunologist so that they can help us understand how if she ever gets sick is she able to fight off an infection good enough, So that means i will be out of work even longer until Ellie is cleared from physical therapy and Eliana’s medical bill will be very difficult to pay off. your prayers and God have been helping me manage to get through all of this even though it is still very difficult and draining i couldn’t have done anything if it wasn’t for any of my friends and family’s support.
