Eli is facing a second battle with Leukemia (Very High Risk Pre B Cell ALL).
He was first diagnosed in 2015 as a 7th grader. He had been in remission until a follow up appointment Monday August 10, 2020, when it was found that his Leukemia is back.
Eli is currently going through some aggressive treatment such as daily chemotherapy and eventually, a Bone Marrow Transplant that costs anywhere from $100,000 to $250,000. For the Bone Marrow Transplant, they will be staying in the hospital in Rochester for 2 to 3 months while they prepare his body to accept the Bone Marrow, which means Shannon and/or Scott will need to be away from home this entire time.
Costs to come and go from Rochester (a 5 hour drive one way) to see their other 2 children and take care of things at home will likely be a hefty cost that they weren’t prepared for either.
Eli is suppose to be preparing for college where he wants to study Accounting. He is a great kid and with everyone's love and support, he will get through this! He's shown his strength and continues to smile, but these donations will take some pressure off of this family so they can all focus on the road ahead!
Shannon and Scott are his parents and they are both educators teaching at 2 local colleges here in SD. They have shown to be some of the strongest parents I know and I feel compelled to help them through this, just as they would do anything for others! They have always had a strong faith in family and community and your donations will be greatly appreciated.
