Eleni's Living & Medical Fund.
My name is Emely Pogorelec and I live in New Jersey. I am Eleni's good friend who is trying to raise funds to help pay for part of her cancer treatment and other everyday expenses.
On April 29 2013 my good friend Eleni Sequera was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Carcinomas Infiltrative Ductal, stage 4. She completed her treatment and did well for 3 years until sadly she relapsed in April 2016 with metastasis in her lungs and Liver. Unfortunately due to the Humanitarian crisis in her country where there is no medicine for cancer patients Eleni was not able to complete her second treatment. With the help of some friends she traveled to USA to look for Humanitarian assistance. She is now in Florida waiting to get treatment in January 2018 but in the meantime she needs to purchase a medicine called Zoladex every 28 days at cost of $1400 per interval. She also must take Herceptin 6mg/kg-348 mg IV DI every 21 days but we do not have a price on that as of yet. This does not include Tykerb 125 mg which is imposible to get due to high price and Aromasin 25 mg.
Eleni is here without family, living in a rental room at a cost of $650 per month. She recently was forced to stop working due to her condition, and has a 16 year old daughter waiting for her back home. She has been able to stay in the USA thanks to some friends and Angels that God put in her path. We are all helping with money for her rent, food and some medical expenses but unfortunately the cost of the medicine mentioned above it is too high. We are asking for your help so that she can continue her treatment until she gets the requested humanitarian help next year. The medicine that she needs right now is not covered and must be paid out of pocket. It is important that she takes them to keep her going until she gets approval for full treatment in Florida at the Jacksonville Hospital expected in early 2018. The money will be used for rent, food, medicine and other expenses that may come along.
I ask that you contribute if you can and very importantly pass this along on your Facebook or other forms of social media. Eleni and I appreciate your continued support, prayers, and best wishes. May God bless you for the help.
Emely Pogorelec.
