Elements Contemporary Ballet dancers’ produce an evening of three new works.
Elemental Components is Elements Contemporary Ballet’s first production showcasing the company dancers’ talents as choreographers. The showcase will take place at Visceral Dance Center on May 1st and 2nd at 8pm., with a reception to follow immediately after the performance on May 2nd.
We have spent the last few months exploring possible themes around which to build a choreographic showcase. The more searching we did, the more we began to consider the possibility of using resources we already had access to. Many of our colleagues within the company expressed genuine interest in choreographing new works, and performing in the works of their peers. The space we rehearse in, Visceral Dance Center, has generously harbored our company classes and rehearsals long before we became company dancers. Finally, Mike Gosney and Joe Caruana, our directors asked if we would consider making our creative venture a part of the Elements spring season. Given all of these resources, we feel compelled to create a showcase highlighting the talents of our dancers amidst the works of their peers.
Your donations will help foster the first artistic endeavor of the Elements dancers as not only performers but also choreographers, directors, and producers. It is our hope that the success of this initial showcase will give rise to an annual production created with Elements dancers at the helm.
Our goal is to raise $5,000. Donations will go toward production fees including rehearsal and performance space rentals, marketing materials, costuming, and compensation for the performers.
