Help for Lucy and Eleanor Carlson
Donation protected
On July 30th, Eleanor Rose and Lucy Linnea were born to Luke and Elizabeth, dear friends and family of those of us running this campaign. The twin girls were 15 weeks early, and as anyone might imagine, both were in significant distress and were taken immediately to a NICU about 45 miles away from where their parents live and where the twins were born. Tragically, precious Eleanor passed away on August 17 from an infection that her body was not yet prepared to fight. Lucy continues to grow stronger, but still has many difficulties ahead of her and many goals to reach.
Of course Luke and Elizabeth were not prepared emotionally or financially for this tragedy, and our hope is to raise enough money that they can focus on grieving their loss and loving their dear little Lucy (and not on the financial strain that could await them). We would like to raise enough money that they can pay their medical costs and honor Eleanor’s short life in a way that will bring them comfort and peace.
Luke and Elizabeth have also specifically requested prayers for comfort, peace, healing, and strength for Lucy and themselves.
Right now, Lucy specifically needs to have her PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus, an unclosed hole in the aorta) heal and close, for her brain bleed to heal, to get off of the ventilator, and to decrease her oxygen needs. In addition, there is uncertainty about a possible infection in her trachea, and Luke and Elizabeth have asked for prayer that the upcoming lab results would show that the infection is gone.
