Elaine's Medical Expenses

In early March, our family received news that has shaken our world, challenged our faith, and upended our lives. Elaine Bretz visited the doctor for symptoms of exhaustion, weakness, and general malaise. A routine appointment evolved into a diagnosis for Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend—words that describe her; words that are pieces of us; words whose meanings we’re not ready to forfeit.

Aunt Lanie’s convictions have always stood for the weak and marginalized because she knows we’re not meant to fight all battles alone. Though she’s a fighter, and poised for what’s ahead, she needs your help. She needs you to stand with her in every way. She needs your hands, your hugs, your presence to hold her through difficult steps. She needs your hearts praying, pressing upward, confident of healing and life ahead. And she needs your financial support because the medical cost stands before her like a giant—mountainous and cold. We are reaching out to our incredible community of beloved family, friends, friends of friends, and anyone else in our wonderful community who may be able to show generosity.

Certainly, in these difficult times where COVID-19 impacts us all, it is more difficult to give than ever. Nothing about Elaine's diagnosis, however, has been easy, and the timing of this pandemic is no exception. So, we put our faith in God’s provision and power, and we invite you to be His hands and feet, to be living answers to our prayers, and join with us in this battle. We’re grateful for anything you are willing to do to help Aunt Lanie as she kicks cancer's butt! Our hearts are with you as yours are with us.
