El Maestro Yuma necesita nuestro apoyo.

Yuma, nuestro maestro, necesita de nuestro apoyo para evaluaciones médicas y una intervención quirúrgica urgente.

En estos momentos, nuestro Maestro Guillermo Díaz Yuma atraviesa una situación delicada de salud a causa de una lesión ocupante de espacio de aproximadamente 3 x 3 cm en la unión de la fosa prostática y el labio anterior del cuello de la vejiga. Esta lesión está causando hematuria macroscópica con coágulos, es decir, orinas sanguinolentas. Es urgente realizar estudios específicos (UROTAC con contraste y exámenes preoperatorios) y tener una resección transuretral (RTU) de la masa para dilucidar pronóstico y tratamiento. La resección trans-uretral de tumor vesical (RTU) es un procedimiento quirúrgico mínimamente invasivo que se utilizaría para extirpar el tejido tumoral y realizar los estudios pertinentes (Biopsia a la (s) muestra (s) obtenida (s) del acto quirúrgico). En estos centros especializados en los que Yuma ha sido evaluado tienen los equipos necesarios para realizar dicha operación pero sus costos son elevados. La intervención quirúrgica de RTU supera los diez mil dólares ($ 10.000) sin incluir exámenes preoperatorios, estudios de biopsia, medicamentos y tratamiento postoperatorio. Hoy en día, en un crítico contexto económico, social y político, se hace cuesta arriba atender cualquier emergencia. Es por ello que acudimos a la solidaridad de todas y todos, alumnos, colegas, amigos y allegados, con el propósito de recolectar lo necesario para cubrir los gastos de esta nueva batalla que comenzamos con nuestro querido Yuma.

Yuma es actor, director, pedagogo, investigador y fundador —junto al Maestro Eduardo Gil— del Taller Experimental de Teatro (actualmente Centro de Creación Artística TET, uno de los pocos grupos en Venezuela con más de 50 años de trayectoria). Este maestro ha formado a muchas generaciones de artistas y creadores, transmitiendo una metodología, una disciplina y una particular visión de la vida y del teatro, con una profunda entrega y compromiso a la enseñanza del oficio. Desempeñando su labor docente ha abierto un espacio de trabajo para que cada alumno encuentre por sí mismo lo que necesita descubrir; valorando las individualidades y las potencialidades particulares. En casi 50 años dedicados a la educación, ha entregado a las nuevas generaciones de actores, directores, hacedores de teatro, de danza y de cine unos principios de trabajo que constituye un valioso legado, lo que hace de Yuma un referente en la historia del teatro venezolano. Actualmente, Yuma asiste todos los días al Teatro Luis Peraza donde continúa con generosidad desempeñando su labor de maestro en el Centro de Formación e investigación Actoral, con el Taller de Formación a Jóvenes Directores y en sus clases de drama de la Universidad Experimental de Las Artes (UNEARTE). Aquí estamos, una vez más, distintas generaciones de artistas, creadoras y creadores, haciendo lo que está en nuestras manos para acompañar y ayudar a nuestro maestro, para que pueda seguir desarrollando su trabajo, de un valor incalculable para la comunidad y la sociedad actual. Yuma, our teacher, needs our support for medical evaluations and urgent surgical intervention. At this moment, our Director Guillermo Díaz Yuma is facing a delicate health situation due to a space-occupying lesion of approximately 3 x 3 cm at the junction of the prostatic fossa and the anterior lip of the bladder neck. This lesion is causing macroscopic hematuria with clots, meaning bleeding while urinating. It is urgent to perform specific studies (UROTAC with contrast and preoperative exams) and to have a transurethral resection (TUR) of the mass to elucidate prognosis and treatment. Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that would be used to remove the tumor tissue and perform relevant biopsy studies. In these specialized centers where Yuma has been evaluated, they have the necessary equipment to perform this surgery , but their costs are high. The surgical intervention of TUR exceeds ten thousand dollars ($10,000) without including preoperative exams, biopsy studies, medications, and postoperative treatment. In today’s critical economic, social, and political context, it is difficult to address any emergency. That is why we appeal to the solidarity of everyone, students, colleagues, friends, and acquaintances, with the purpose of raising the necessary funds to cover the expenses of this new battle that we begin with our beloved Yuma. Yuma is an actor, director, pedagogue, researcher, and founder —alongside Master Eduardo Gil— of the Experimental Theater Workshop (currently the TET Artistic Creation Center, one of the few groups in Venezuela with over 50 years of history). This teacher has trained many generations of artists and creators, transmitting a methodology, discipline, and a particular vision of life and theater, with deep dedication and commitment to teaching the craft. In his teaching role, he has created a space for each student to find for themselves what they need to discover, valuing individualities and particular potentials. In nearly 50 years dedicated to education, he has passed on to new generations of actors, directors, theater, dance, and film practitioners a work ethic that constitutes a valuable legacy, making Yuma a reference in the history of Venezuelan theater. Currently, Yuma attends the Luis Peraza Theater every day where he continues generously to perform his teaching duties at the Actor Training and Research Center, with the Young Directors Training Workshop, and in his drama classes at the Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE). Here we are, once again, different generations of artists, female and male creators, doing what is in our power to support and help our teacher, so that he can continue to develop his work, which is of incalculable value to the community and current society.
