Paul's Fund

I have been a contributor to Go Fund Me in the past.  I guess I didn’ t think I would someday be starting a fund.  This fund is for my son-in-law, Paul, who has suffered a major illness.

Paul, is finally home from Westchester Medical Center after a six week admission followed by rehab.  We are so fortunate to still have Paul with us, as he came very close to dying from a heart related illness.

Paul at this time is unable to work.  He is the primary “breadwinner” in the family. My daughter works 30 hours a week but due to this illness she has had many more responsibilities added to her life causing her to miss work at times.  Like most jobs, she is not paid when she is not there.  Paul’s job is very labor intensive and at this point it is uncertain when he will be able to return to work, if ever.

 

I have started this fund to help my son-in-law, daughter and their 16 year old son.  Paul will receive short term disability which is approximately $150 per week.  Their income has been cut by three-quarters, making their need urgent.  There are many expenses ahead related to Paul’s illness that will not be covered by insurance.  In addition there are the everyday bills, mortgage, heat, food and gas, frequent trips to Westchester Medical Center being but a few of the expenses.  They will apply  for some services in this interim when Paul is unable to work.

 

This illness has been catastrophic both emotionally and financially.  It is difficult to ask people to donate their hard earned money.  If you can find it in your budget to help this family it would be greatly appreciated.  Any little bit will help.
