Our Mother, Eileen Shaw, the bright, fun-loving lady we all love so much has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. She was having issues with swallowing and coughing up her food. On February 1st, 2017, Our mother went to have day surgery to have her esophagus stretched. However, the doctor found a tumour by happenstance.
Since that day, she's struggled with finding a surgeon to remove the tumour and after a long wait she was finally assigned one in Moncton. After a battery of tests and scans, the doctor felt that her surgery would be a difficult one. One that he was not comfortable performing. He then referred her to Toronto.
Due to the cost of travel and lodging for her assessment and Toronto and the possible surgery that will follow, Eileen (mom) will need help financially to absorb these costs.
She's so thankful for all of the love and support she's been shown over the last couple of months and is appreciative of any help she receives!
