Help Ehren Recover from Leukaemia

My friend’s son Ehren Yaw Afrifa is a 6-year old 1st grade student at the Christ the King preparatory school. Yaw was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in August 2017 after a history of weight loss, easy fatigability and recurrent fever. He was hospitalized at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana where he was receiving chemo treatment until December 2017.
Unfortunately, because of the type of Leukaemia, the treatment in Ghana has failed to work and the doctors have recommended that we seek immediate further treatment outside of Ghana for Yaw. After deliberations with the lead team at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the doctors recommended that we transfer Yaw to the Pediatric Oncology Department of Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN in the United States. Yaw has been at Mayo Clinic since January 22nd, 2018 for treatment.
No parent can ever be well prepared for such unexpected life changing event. Yaw dreams to become a lawyer when he grows up. We are setting a fund raising target of US$100,000 based on the initial estimate of the cost of the treatment. Both parents live in Ghana and make a combined income that is less than a quarter of the estimated medical expenses. So far, they have also spent all their savings on the initial medical bills in Ghana.
Please consider donating to Yaw’s fund to help this sweet little boy overcome a huge medical challenge so that he can regain his normal life and go back to school to achieve his dream.

update: yaw has been returned to Ghana to continue his treatment there. He will however, he will have to return to Usa occasionally to complete his test due to lack of infrastructure
