Help Kelly!

Tax deductible
8-month-old Kelly lost her home when her owner died.  She ended up on the euthanasia list at Animal Care Centers because she had an upper respiratory infection and a bad eye infection.  Luckily, we had room and were able to save Kelly's life.

After treating Kelly's eye for about a month (her upper respiratory infection has cleared) without much improvement, we brought her to see ophthalmologist, Dr. Sapienza, at Long Island Vet Specialists.  It turns out that Kelly's infection has probably been going on for much longer than we thought.  Her eye is irreversibly scarred and the eye itself has actually retracted from the severity and chronicity.

Dr. Sapienza recommended that we consider enucleating her eye as the best way to give her comfort and we immediately agreed.  He had time today to do the surgery and Kelly is now recovering.

The unexpected bill came to $1200 which wiped out our emergency fund.  Anything you can give to help would be appreciated.

We do have some good news at the end of this -- Kelly has a family waiting for her!
