My brother has always been one of the most hard working man I have had the privilege to know. It is an absolute honor to call him my big brother. He has always been a strong provider for his family. He does not only look out for his wife and children but many of us as well. He has a heart of gold, and he is always there to lend a hand when someone is in need. He devoted over 20 years of his life to the Kolache Factory. Each day he has given his job and his family his all.
These past 2 weeks have been very hard for our family. My brother had a medical condition in the form of a bleeding problem that brought his hemoglobin level to 4.9. It was only by God's grace that he is still with us today.
This all started on Tuesday 9/15/2020, when he was taken to the Emergency Room due to him having a lot of pain. He was told that he had lost a lot of blood and that he needed an immediate blood transfusion. After some tests they informed him that he was bleeding internally but the doctors couldn’t find where the bleeding was coming from. He stayed for 3 nights but was then sent home since unfortunately there was not much that could be done to help his condition if they did not know the cause.
This Wednesday 9/23/2020 he was rushed to the Emergency Room again, this time he was cold, weak, and extremely pale. Once again his blood level had dropped below 5. The doctors did blood transfusions yet again. Thankfully this time he was able to get stable. The doctors were FINALLY able to find the problem, we were informed that he had internal hemorrhoids and a hiatal hernia. The doctors believe the bleeding disorder might be due to COVID side effects. This illness that we thought we had put behind us had left lingering effects on his body and immune system.
Thank God he was approved for health insurance but has a high deductible to take care of first. He will remain at home for the next 3 months or probably longer to fully recover and get back to normal. As many of us know, bills don't stop and so many other expenses that follow along. We would love to be able to help him and his family during this difficult time. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
