Carter’s Top Surgery

Hi, I’m Carter Morais and I am a 24 year old trans man asking for help funding my top surgery. For various reasons in my life it had become quite difficult to start my transition. I’ve now been on hormones for two years, and although it helps with dysphoria quite a bit there is still one issue, my chest.

Everyday I dread getting dressed or showering because it means I’ll have to be reminded that my chest does not reflect my identity. My binders have begun to seriously hurt me as I have long work days outside and no chance to take it off and breathe. I can no longer keep waiting and putting off my transition as I’ve come to realize time really does not wait for you. I’d hate to spend anymore of my life with a body that in no way reflects who I am as a man.

With insurance not willing to cover costs and other issues that require a lot of money in my life right now, I just don’t have the funds for my surgery. Financially, it would be less expensive for me to travel to Florida to get my surgery. In general, I am also just more comfortable with the work of a doctor down there, as I’ve seen it for years now.

Price Breakdown:

Surgery: $12,000

Hospital Stay: $2,500

Travel + Hotel: $1,500

I hate to ask anyone for money but I think right now this is truly my best and only option to get surgery rather than wait a couple more years with the hope I’ll be able to save up. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and possibly even donate. Even just a share will help!
