Hi, all! I wanted to share with you how excited I am about an opportunity I have coming up! I have been given the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Liberia, Costa Rica this spring, and I would love for you to partner with me!
I will be traveling with my school in partnership with “Youth With a Mission” (YWAM), from Monday, April 13th – Sunday, April 19th.
We will be participating in Homes of Hope International. We will not only build a house, but will provide safety and security to a family for generations to come. This will help change a family’s mindset from one of poverty, to one of hope. The really cool thing is we are not just building a home and leaving. We get to decorate it and then present it to the family themselves. We get to see, hug, and pray with the people we built this home for. Can you imagine?!
As you know, my mom and I have always been big on volunteer work. For as long as I can remember I have been volunteering! I started by doing arts and crafts with my local retirement community and in their Alzheimer’s community! I have also made food for the homeless in downtown Seattle on several occasions. With my Boy Scout troop, I have volunteered with the ARISE program, helping men in my community with food and warmth. I have also volunteered my time collecting food for food drives and had the opportunity to make packages with Care and Share. As you can see, volunteering is, and always will be, important to me.
If I get to go on this trip, this will be my first time on an international flight! This opportunity will allow me to see what it is like to make a global impact. I will have the chance to be the hands and feet of God.
Here’s the honest truth: I cannot travel to Costa Rica without the financial and prayer support of my community, my tribe! It would be unrealistic to attempt to fund this trip on my own, and it would be arrogant not to ask for prayer, since I will be serving in a way that I’ve never had to before. That’s why I’m inviting you to partner with me. With your support, we can both be a small part of what God is doing to uplift the community in Liberia, Costa Rica, especially in the lives of those we serve, together!
I need 1000 raised by next week November 15th!
