Soaring As Eagles Technology Initiative

Soaring As Eagles Outreach Ministry's mission is to empower families of Title 1 schools through personal, emotional, educational, and professional development. Our educational programs consist of Pre-K JumpStart, Saturday Academy, and Inspired Minds.

We are seeking community support in our efforts to bridge the digital divide in our community and help all children reach their full potential. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support our ongoing programs.

The 6-week summer Pre-K JumpStart program prepares low-income children ages 3 - 5 going into Pre-K and kindergarten with social, emotional and academic skills needed for success. Our Saturday Academy program focuses on 3rd – 6th graders and their preparation for End Of Grade (EOG) tests. This bi-monthly tutoring program runs from January through May and focuses on math and reading testing strategies as well as stress management and coping strategies. Our final education-focused program, Inspired Minds is a mentorship-based program that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) and allows middle schoolers (6th -8th graders) to experience hands-on STEAM activities. Mentors work with students and expose them to robotics, forensic science, astronomy, and financial literacy among other areas. Students will also have an opportunity to visit college campuses. Experiencing these STEAM activities allows students to dream and explore creative opportunities for success.

It is always a challenge to make sure our students have access to some of the latest devices and technology to help prepare them for the future. That's where you come in! Soaring as Eagles needs coding and robotics sets, iPads and (Oculus) virtual reality gear. Any amount you can give would be appreciated and will play a big part in helping children who might not otherwise have access to these learning tools experience emerging technologies and the many opportunities that are available to them.

We recognize that when we level the playing field and access opportunities that all children can thrive. Our goal is to provide these children with the capability to soar.
