Mica Almitra (Olsen) Ward, 43, of Lincoln City, Oregon, died suddenly after battling a short illness at St Vincent Hospital on Sunday February 21, 2021. Mica was born January 30, 1978, to Kurt and Meredith Olsen in Lincoln City, Oregon. In 1996 she graduated from Taft High School where she lettered in varsity golf and volleyball and was voted prom queen. She was a member of the 2000 graduating class of the Oregon State University School of Home Economics with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science. While in college she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Mica married her high school sweetheart Roger Ward. They lived in Keizer, OR after college before returning to their hometown of Lincoln City. Mica and Roger have two wonderful children Callen and Hailey. Mica’s children were the joy of her life. Nothing brought her more happiness than loving on her children.
Mica was an accomplished professional in her career. She was a registered Dietician in the state of Oregon and went to work at the Salem Hospital before returning to Lincoln City to work at North Lincoln Hospital. In her career, she helped countless people with diabetes management and diet counseling. Her expertise and influence on her community were undeniable.
As a dietician and home economics major, Mica had a passion for food. She managed the kitchen at work and at home. Mica shined at mealtime and always had a way of bringing people together with food.
Mica was a gentle, kind, and generous soul. She gave everything she had to others and never expected anything in return. This spirit we learned from Mica and it will carry on in her children. Please consider contributing to an education fund that is established for Callen and Hailey to pay for their future college educations. Mica will be so proud to watch who they become from above.
Mica is survived by her husband Roger Ward, two children Callen (11) and Hailey (5), her parents Kurt and Meredith Olsen, and her brother Cole Olsen along with many other family members and friends. She will be so missed.
