Education and basics for a Sherpa Lhakpa's family

I want to invite you to help with a personal project close to my heart. Lhakpa, the dedicated Sherpa porter who tirelessly supported our trekking team from Lukla to EBC, tragically passed away shortly after descending back to his family. In honor of his memory, I've collaborated with our guide, Bishnu (Lhakpa’s brother-in-law), to develop a business plan that provides sustainable support to this family.

We will purchase 10 donkeys that will transport essential commodities from the highway below

Lukla up to Namche Bazaar. This donkey-based porter business provides an immediate positive

cash flow but, more importantly, aims to provide sustained support to Lhakpa’s widow and two

children. This will secure the kids' education and meet their various needs.

Your involvement can make a significant difference. With a micro-investment in our donkey project, not only will you be aiding Lhakpa’s family, but any surplus of funds will be reinvested and will perpetuate a cycle of positive change, lifting other families in the Khumbu region out of poverty.

Each donkey costs $800, and I will be purchasing at least one. I am seeking 9 compassionate

donors to join me in providing sustainable care for this family. Every donation, no matter the

amount, contributes to the success of this initiative. If you can only afford a fraction of a donkey, please consider being part of this collective effort.

Surviving along the EBC trail is an immense challenge for these families. Without adequate

resources, the children face the harsh reality of starting work at an early age to support their

families, forfeiting the opportunity for education. Let's come together to ensure a brighter future

for these beautiful children.
