Eddie Needs Mum and Dad With Him

On Saturday 2nd of September at 12.28 pm Haylee and Warrick, Malcolm and Chloe welcomed their beautiful addition to the family, Edward Colin Maher born at just 26 weeks and only 895g, a family who had already had there fair share of past challenges.

This is a time that needs to be about strength, courage and most of all love as each day Edward gets stronger and stronger until the day they get to go home as a family.

As little as he is the soul is powerful! Edward needs his mummy and daddy's presence as much as possible, yet unfortunately everyday life doesn't stop, bills don't stop.

I met haylee through Mainly Music where we have many strong bonds within our mums group, she is such a humble person and wouldn't dream of any help but this is a time friends, family and loved ones come together.

Isolette...
could this be the loneliest but most beautiful word
this is a word I had never hear,
that was until I became a premie mum
a mum that often feels extremely numb
isolette, is where my baby lies.
where the first few day I could only look with my eyes.
The isolette of isolation
the plastic wall of separation
the isolette that keeps us apart
but the only reason you’ve been given this start.
the isolette that keeps you alive
and the perfect numbers for that we strive
the numbers that mean the machines don’t beep
the numbers that mean my heart doesn’t skip a beat
the isolette that keeps you safe and warm
and has done since the day you were born.
the isolette that means no cuddles and no kiss
it’s something that I’ll always miss
even though I may not have done it yet
my heart aches for something I cannot get.
because we are separated by this isolette.
