Help Pay for Edd's Life-Saving Surgery

Donation protected
Hi guys! I'm Edd! I'm a 95-pound German Shepherd, full of goofy charm and a love of the Chuck It.  I'm just an easy-going, adorable, goof ball who finds pleasure in the simple things in life.  Throwing me a ball or well-placed scratches are the fastest way to my big ol' heart.  My hoomans took away my squeaky balls because they needed a break from my constant chomping. They crazy. Squeaky balls = life!

Something really scary happened to me recently, and I almost lost my life.  Dad took me on a run to wear down some of my energy.  I got home, and after 30 minutes ate (well...inhaled) my dinner.  This made my tummy feel pretty bad.  I didn't know what was happening.  All I know is that I felt sick and I kept dry heaving without any luck.  All I wanted were cuddles from my mom and dad. Luckily, my hoomans took me to the emergency surgery vet that night.  After an x-ray, the vet said I had bloat (GDV) and that my stomach had flipped and I needed surgery, or I would die.  Mom and dad tearfully hugged me goodbye before I was taken to another room.  I was so scared and didn't know why my hoomans were leaving me.  The vet gave me some medicine and I felt sleepy. After I woke up, the vet told mom and dad I did great in surgery.  My stomach was fully rotated and my spleen was damaged and needed to be taken out. The nice vet fixed me right up! After a day in the ICU I got to come home.  My tummy feels better now, and I hope I can take this cone off soon.

Mom wants every dog parent to know that GVD is an issue more likely to happen with large-chested dogs if they eat too soon (within an hour) before or after exercising (and if they inhale food as quickly as me).  Mom and dad are so relieved to have me home safe.  Unfortunately, this surgery was very unexpected and puts my hoomans in a very difficult financial situation.  I'm asking for help from other dog moms and dads, or dog lovers to help my hoomans raise money to pay for my stomach surgery.  I promise to be a good boy and not chew as many squeaky balls.
