Ed Dans Scholarship Fund

On July 11th, 2017, our beloved science teacher, Mr. Ed Dans passed away suddenly. Mr. Dans was a loving husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend to all. He taught at Pleasantville High School for the past 23 years where he spread his passion for science and exploration with his students. Students would have found him speaking passionately about biology and anatomy and physiology, or helping students with their research projects. Outside of the classroom, he worked to initiate a TV production program

Mr. Dans was a teacher who will forever be remembered for his genuine personality, friendly demeanor, and infectious enthusiasm for science. He was able to create a special relationship between every person who walked into his classroom. Students looked forward to going to class each day because they knew that Mr. Dans would entertain them with new and interesting knowledge.

This scholarship will serve as a memory of Mr. Dans’ passion and inspiration for the future. It will be annually given to a senior at Pleasantville High School who mirrors Mr. Dans character and demonstrates a devotion to science.
