Ecuador Eye Surgery, Covid 19 Response & Aid

The year of 2020.  It is a year none of us will soon forget.  Today we are coming to you with a heavy heart.  As, we sit in the middle of trying times and a Global Pandemic we are reminded we are here for a greater purpose than ourselves.  The verse Philippians 2:4 stands out “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interest of others.” Our friends and family in Ecuador need our help and prayers. 

A brief update and urgent needs from the city of Macas and the rainforest.  First and for most they need your prayers.  It has come to our attention of some desperate needs at the current time.  Ecuador, has been hit hard by Covid 19 as well economic downfall.  The church that Joy has partnered with has three Pastors.  Domingo Rivadeneira, Clever Leon, Ivan Cardenas.  These men have received no income for the past four months and are serving an unbelievable amount of families as well as taking care of their own.  Everyone in Ecuador has received a 50 percent pay cut from the government. 

Joy has been with heavy hearts this week as we are unable to travel to help our friends and family in need.  We have two desperate situations in which we are requesting funding to make these needs happen. 

1.       Florincio, a husband to Melissa and father of 2 boys.  He has caught a disease that attacked his vision.  He needs immediate surgery to not go permanently blind! We need to raise money so that he can get the surgery as soon as this week.  We are currently arranging transportation and housing in Quito.  He will need to make the 10 hour trip to have this done.  We want to get this done for him this week!   We need at least $4000.00 by beginning of the week.  We are trusting God to provide. 

2.       Pastor Clemente’s (the pastor of Shimpi church) wife Nattie mother of 4 is having complications from Covid 19.  She is currently on a ventilator as of Thursday night 6/4/2020. 

There are many ways to help!  First and foremost they need your prayers.  Joy is donating $500.  We are in process of setting up a GoFundMe Page where donations can be made.  We ask that you donate any amount you can.  If you are unable to donate and we do understand please share and spread the word.  We need your voice.  Of course you are able to still purchase Joy jewelry and all profit will continue to go to support our artisans and families.  I ask you to please pray and search your heart and see what part God is calling you to do.  Thank you as always for your support and love.  Please follow our social media for videos and updates this week!
