École des Trois Docteurs in Beirut Needs Our Help
Donation protected
Dear friends,
As students around the world start the school year, many families, children and teachers in Beirut face unprecedented challenges this fall in the wake of the massive explosion that ravaged the city on 4th August 2020. Initial estimates of the losses suffered by Lebanon exceed 15 billion USD.
The school my daughter attends, L’École des Trois Docteurs, a not-for-profit organization established in year 1835 is one of the oldest schools in Beirut. It is located a mere 700 meters from the explosion site in the main port and it suffered significant damages to its campus, facilities, buildings and fleet of school buses.
The school was already struggling to survive amid the ongoing adverse economic conditions and the coronavirus outbreak, in particular in the absence of much-needed government and international support.
This initiative is of utmost importance to support the school’s unique and inclusive educational program which is designed for special needs children and embedded in its mainstream curriculum. The school, the teachers and all the students are more than ever in great need of our generosity so they continue to aspire for a brighter future.
We are trying to do our share to help the school recover, rebuild and carry on with its mission. We aim to raise 20,000 EUR on the first round and I pledge to match the early donations.
Your help, in any way you can, is much appreciated and you may not need to include tips for the GoFundMe platform (by selecting “Other” and setting it to “0”) as this is being settled separately.
All donors will have access to the acknowledgment of receipt of the funds by the school which I intend to publish on this page.
Every contribution matters!
With much gratitude
