Love for Lucas

Lucas Mark Lee, 7 months old and the youngest of four children in the Lee family, began having seizures in mid-December, 2018. On December 19,  just days before his very first Christmas, Lucas was diagnosed with what surgeons believed to be a benign brain tumor. Lucas underwent an eight hour surgery on February 4 of this year to have the tumor removed.  One week following the surgery, while recovering  at home with his family, Lucas' parents, Amanda and Dennis Lee, received devastating news from his neurosurgeon. Pathology reports revealed that Lucas' tumor was malignant.  In Amanda's words, "This news has completely knocked the wind out of us, and we really need your prayers. We are holding on to our faith and know that God has a plan."


After meeting with a team of Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and Oncologists, the family has learned that their sweet, bubbly,  baby boy will need to undergo regular chemotherapy for a minimum of one year. In addition to the chemotherapy, depending on the results of an upcoming MRI, additional brain surgery may be required. 


Besides the emotional toll this news has taken, accumulating medical bills and loss of income  will continue to be a hardship to the family as they ensure Lucas receives the treatment he needs to beat his cancer. The prayers from family, friends and community have been, and will continue to be, instrumental throughout this journey.
