Wheelchair Elevation Feature
Donation protected
Hallie was born with Arthrogyposis and cannot walk or stand She has limited upperbody strength and can only raise her arms almost to her shoulders. Her hands are bent towards her back and her little fingers are deformed. However, Hallie is a bright, cheerful and kind little girl. She amazes me with her independant nature and resourcefulness. She attends regular classes at school and makes good grades and I am very proud of her acheivements. Hallie is in the process of getting a new mobile wheelchair. To facilitate her transfer from the wheelchair onto her bed or changing table and accommodating the need for height adjustment for her school desk and lunch table(as well as at home)..., she needs the elevation feature on the new chair. This feature is not covered on her new chair because it is not a pediactric chair. Her doctor wrote a prescription and detailed letter explaining why it was necessary but SC Medicaid will not give a waiver for it. I have exhausted all other options and am asking for your help. I am a 69 yr old grandmother caring for my 2 grandchildren and will have to obtain a loan if necessary in order to have this for Hallie. Any donations will be appreciated. Thank you and God bless.
