Paris Exchange Trip

I've been chosen!  And now I need to raise some $...

My name is Émika Easton.  I'm in grade 8 and every year my school takes a selected group of students on an exchange to Paris, France.  

I wanted to go.... but I was put on the wait list because I have been to Europe before.

Here's the good news though - I've now been asked to join the other 23 students who will be hosting a French student here in January and going to live with them in May.

I've negotiated with my parents and I need to raise a lot of the money myself.  Which is okay!  I'm up for the challenge.  But, I'm just not sure how much babysitting or selling jewellery and other art I will actually do before paying my portion of this trip.

How much is the trip? $2,200 - I'm trying to raise a bit more so that I can also do fun things with my exchange student when she comes here.

You see, Laura will be visiting me in January to experience the COLD winter of Canada.  I've received her letter and she seems just like me!  Except she only has one older brother and I have a huge blended family.

I can't wait to spend some time with her in her home.  She lives in small town outside of Paris.  When I stay with her I'll have the chance to visit tourist sites in Paris, Versailles and also spend 3 days on the water in ....I forget the name.... I'll have to add it in later.

Well - I hope you'll support me in this HUGE adventure.  I'm so excited to live with a real French family and, to explore a new part of the world with some friends, and... let's be honest - to get away from my 10 brothers and sisters!
