Eastern Track 400m Project

In the Spring of 2021, the renovated Eastern Track Facility was finally open for competition.  Despite the limitations on event sizes due to COVID Safety Protocols we were thrilled to have the busiest track in Kentucky.  Eastern's track played host to 13 meets this spring and summer including the state's best invitational meet, the Eastern Relays, the Middle School State Championship, the Elementary Dream Mile, Regional Championships, and a great summer series of meets (AAU State, USATF State, Kentucky Senior Games, and the Bluegrass State Games).  The track hosted national class performers and beginners.  Athletes from 4 years old to 70+ had opportunities to run, jump, and throw!

With help from our athletes, families, alumni, and friends of the program we raised over $160,000, and in the fall of 2018 we took out a loan of $225,000 to complete building the new track.  With the facility finally completed, our team had plans to host a full season of meets in 2020 in order to raise enough money to cover the $50,000 in annual loan payments.  With 2020 the track season cancelled, the Eastern Booster Club has lost significant revenue to make our monthly loan payments.
