December 24th, 2021, a day that should be a celebration of life and family, began tragically when a beautiful family, as well as the world, lost a bright soul. ER Physician Christian James Mustill, age 54, passed away on the morning of Christmas Eve in the hospital after an extremely short battle with pancreatic cancer. Christian Mustill was a joyous family man that was utterly devoted to his wife, Julie, and his 9 year old daughter, Morghyn. As described by my father, a person who was blessed to have met and worked with Dr. Mustill, Christian was a very hard working individual, having worked more ER shifts than anyone else at Lake Huron Medical Center's ER in Port Huron, MI between 2018-2021. This included running resuscitations on hospital floors and ICU for COVID and other critically ill patients. He was a great friend, compassionate physician, and loving family man, with an impeccable skill for story telling with his witty, dry British humor. His family meant everything to him, and he could not talk enough about his adventures with Morghyn. This loss is even more devastating as he was the sole financial provider to his family. Dr. Mustill was in between jobs, with a lapse in life insurance policy and substantial medical school loan debt. Any donations, no matter how small, will help this family slowly get back on their feet during this holiday season and beyond.
