Training for Women in Pakistan
My name is Liz, I run the community art business Frothy Betty Creative Productions and co-manage the travel company Karakoram Bikers and now also the community and support network Five Giants.
Through my work I visit some amazingly beautiful and completely misunderstood places. Together with your support we are providing opportunities for local businesses, access to better education and health and enhancing quality of life.
I need your help this Christmas - this is the present I would like :)
Right now we are supporting women from rural regions of Pakistan to attend official training in early childhood education and setting up safe houses for women and children to learn together in a holistic and supportive environment.
In the immediate future we have two women starting training in January, the fee for this is $500 Australian Dollars per person. This training gives the women the skills to run the early learning houses. We currently support one house and we hope to provide more women with training so that more houses can be set up. The training which takes place in Gilgit City is offically recognised and accredited.
The cost of $500 per person goes to cover fees needed for the duration of the course

- accommodation
- meals
- transport
After receiving the training these women will then provide support for other women and families and spread their knowledge further. It directly creates a network and flow on effect to enhance the opportunities for a better education to all those in the extended community.
The local people maintain traditions and cultural activities with a deep passion for music and polo. Many in these rural areas are faced with difficulties, financial, social, limited resources. Through this education programme we can soften the path and create gateways to ongoing opportunites. Providing access to vocational training opens greater avenues for their whole community.
Pakistan is a country that is vastly misjudged, one that has suffered greatly at the hands of negative and misguided media. It is a country of immense beauty, extremely friendly people and ethnically diverse and rich cultures. The devastating impact on the tourism industry from this negativity is a hardship sorely taken in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, a region that is surely one of the greatest and most rewarding travel destinations on our planet.
We are a small dedicated and passionate team constantly striving to give back to the communities we visit, while changing negative perceptions.
Each person that donates will receive photos from the Early Learning house and a thank you letter from the women we support.
The more money we raise the more women we can assist through this education programme.
