Hi! My name is Tyler Segars.. I am a recovered addict. When I say recovered, I mean recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. Through the experiences I have had in recovery, I have a passion to give back to those that have lost their way! God continues to open doors for me and I have now become a Recovery Coordinator for a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization called Eagles Bridge. TJ Pass, my mentor and business partner, started this organization in 2007. TJ continued to work in the insurance field at this time and his dream was lost in this busy world. Throughout this time, he remained a deacon at a local church and ministered the only Homeless Shelter that we have in our hometown. 6 Months ago, TJ decided to follow his dream of serving God in the best way he knew how....helping addicts and alcoholics and their families get through this difficult time. OUR UNDERSTANDING is that there is a void seperating those suffering with addiction, hopelessness, and despair from the hope that is found in Jesus Christ and his Church. OUR PASSION is encouraging the suffering to seek an Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church so they may discover their purpose and recover. OUR MISSION is to share the message of God's love and hope with the lost while giving them the necessary tools and resources to become thriving, conscientious members of their communities; Always displaying the fruit of the spirit.
We are funded by our BRIDGE BUILDERS. These are benevolent individuals and companies giving monetarily and/or prayerfully to assist in building bridges for those that have lost their way and giving wings to those that have forgotten how to fly!
In our hometown, we have a very large recovery community with several halfway houses and treatment centers. What we notice is that they always have a waiting list and the same individuals seem to be there until they lose their way and then they are back again or they dont make it back. That is the reason we exist. We want to show these men that the only hope for a new life is through God. We believe that is the void!
The money we are raising is for a deposit for a Christ Based Recovery Home. This house will be for the men that we work with. It is not a treatment center. It is a house for transitional living into society. Through experience, we believe there needs to be aftercare after inpatient alcohol or drug treatment. It will be different than a standard halfway house with phases to help transition the individual to become a thriving member of the community and have that authentic relationship with God!
This house will help us work directly with the men we serve. It will create an environment where these men can thrive and not become complacent. We believe that these men can stay sober and that relapse is not a part of recovery. We are living proof of it.
