Long road to recovery

We see things happen to other people and we just never expect things to happen to us, bully’s are becoming a bigger problem than we imagine, and  can be of any age it seems it doesn’t stop even as certain people get older.  On November 6, 2019 my 16 year old nephew Roman was attacked on his way to school by a 32 year old man who was constantly harassing him. Roman was stabbed 4 times and left in critical conditions, a stab wound to the abdomen hit the aorta causing internal bleeding, he was rushed into surgery, the bleeding was contained but the wound could not be closed for 24 hrs, leaving him fighting for his life, the wound was closed but it didn’t mean he was out of harms way, he had infections in some of the wounds, a large incision was made across his whole abdomen. This has been very hard not only for Roman but also for his family... His mom Has had to take time off work To be at his side and now that he has been discharged he needs full time wound care and help moving around. This family of 4 is very thankful that Roman survived this traumatizing attack, but I am making my cousin this page because now I see they are struggling to make ends meet, Bills are piling up and now medical expenses are adding up as well, this event has caused physical, emotional and financial problems to this family, Roman is looking at 6 months recovery time to gain strength and full function of his body, he is still at risk of infections, he is also now going through emotional trauma, he is afraid of leaving his house and wakes up in the middle of the night in fear that his attacker will hurt him or his family again. The attacker was arrested, a news report was made of this incident and can be followed on the corona police department page as well.
