A Boy meets Girl, they become friends, they fall in love, they get married...the rest is history……..

Usually their family “starts to grow” is the next step forward in their progression... “usually” being the key word here.

It wasn't a usually for us, as we have been trying for several years to have a child and with no success we remain a family of two even though we'd love to be more.

My husband works as a chef. He has a bachelor’s degree and was born in Zimbabwe. He is an amazing supportive husband and hard worker. He would make a great father.

I teach in the 5th grade at a school specializing in children with autism, severe learning disabilities and children behavioral problems. I love my job and working with kids. I have been told I am great with kids, especially working with those with special needs.

We have spent the last 3 ½ years trying to conceive and the last 2 ½ years of that with the help of doctors doing treatments and searching for a reason for our difficult struggle.  It was very expensive spending ~ 3 years at doctor appointments that are not covered by insurance; and each step seems to end in heartbreak.

For a little medical history, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I had laparoscopic surgery done when I was 28. After the sugary my doctor put me on the Lupron Depot shot. I took these horrible shots for a year. Lupron makes you go through menopause and all of the wonderful side effects only worse than the natural cause and (my poor husband had to deal with a crazy wife)

We have attempted 3 IUI cycles, but none of those were successful. It has been an emotional 3 years for us; however our marriage of 8 years remains wonderful and strong.  This process of going through so much to have a baby has only brought us closer together. We have tried several other different treatments:

natural

herbal vitamins, fertility blend,

clomid,

Femara  injectables)…..and all of the old wives tales.

If you suggested it, we already tried it and yes we relaxed through it all (took vacations, planned other things to keep our minds off of it and any other unsolicited advice that gave us a trick to get pregnant) and still no success.

Our doctors’ next suggestion is IVF. We will continue to fight for our dream, which is to become parents. We are stepping out on faith and prayer and moving forward with IVF.

It is expensive (around the price of ~ $ 25,000.00) and invasive, plus it can be quite scary as it doesn't always work (50% chance of working with our age). We realized that we would regret not trying and we would regret never knowing if it will succeed more than if we never tried at all.

Time isn’t on our side, the longer we wait the less chance of success we have, so we would like to be able to raise at least $5,000 to $10,000.00 to pay for some of the cost for the IVF by April, 2016, so as not to go totally into debt. The only debt we have is our house mortgage.

We would really like a chance to become parents to a child that shares our genetics.

So here we are at this step in our road that we never thought we would have to take. We are not asking to raise money for the whole treatment, but just for a small part of the procedure.

Please if you are able to donate we appreciate it! Any amount would help...even if you donate $2 dollars, $5, $10, $50… whatever .We thank you in advance for helping us to keep on fighting for our dream to become parents.

Also if you rather donate another way, don't hesitate to email us.  We are so grateful for the time you've spent reading about our struggles and we're forever grateful for those who are able to share or donate. Sharing also helps us tremendously! I know that one day we will be blessed with our miracle baby and that the past three years of struggling will be worth it!
