Help Claire Beat Cancer Again!
Spunky, wise, courageous... Claire needs our help now!
Four years ago, 13-year-old Claire fought for her life when she was first diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, one of the worst kinds of cancer a kid can have. Because of a genetic mutation called FLT3, her parents knew that there was a good chance the cancer could come back. Sadly, on September 13, 2020, just 2 weeks from her 4th bone marrow birthday, she was found to have a relapse.
Last time, her chance of survival was only 20% until her sweet brown-eyed brother, Asher, who was 4 at the time, bravely stepped up to be her Bone Marrow Donor. Since her first diagnosis Claire and her family have actively supported other children with leukemia from participating in multiple fundraisers, creating videos when asked, to Claire attending memorial celebrations in support of other children’s families. You will never meet a human as special as this quiet, calm, wise, sturdy warrior. Claire is an amazing big sister to 3 siblings, Asher (9), Charles (4), & little Jane (3). She is her momma’s best helper and friend and her daddy’s little patriot.
Claire's treatment plan is utilizing new medications that were just recently made available to children with her type of AML. She is paving the way for other children as she fights once again for her own life. Asher is eager to donate his bone marrow again as soon as possible.
In order for Claire not to remain alone in the hospital, which is a 90-minute round-trip from her home, we need to support her parents as they are unable to work full time in the midst of caring for their children. They need help to keep the essentials of their household intact and to be able to travel back and forth daily as one parent stays with Claire while they both try to continue working and caring for their other children. It takes years to recover from the financial devastation that childhood cancer treatment causes a family.
It is time for us, her friends and family to step up to financially support this family to take a bit of the worry off their plates, to ease a tiny bit of the burdens and fears they are facing each moment.
