Our friend, Susan, is very grateful to be alive and is on a deep, healing journey. She was a sick child and was diagnosed with auto-immune illness Juvenile Onset Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 11. She was diagnosed with other auto-immune illnesses through the years. (Sjogrens disease, Feltys disease, occasional Iritis / Uveitis, Epstein-Barr, Celiac disease) And has had a lifetime of surgeries and procedures.
She was very ill throughout most of ’17 and was hospitalized from Jan 7 to Feb 6, '18. She was diagnosed with C-Diff & Colitis, a STAPH infection in her blood and another auto-immune illness called Addison’s disease. She had experienced life threatening “Addisonian Crisis”, which sent her to the emergency room. Addison's disease, also known as primary adrenal insufficiency, is a long-term endocrine disorder in which the adrenal glands do not produce enough steroid hormones & can be VERY life threatening. She is now dependent on corticosteroids for the rest of her life, but she is positive and hopeful to find the correct balance to return to living her best life.
She has had, and will continue to have, MANY medical bills, with all of her illnesses and recent hospital stay and all of the procedures involved. As well as her co-pays on all of the daily medicines involved in managing her illnesses. Susan is single and on SS Disability. She would appreciate any support that you can provide. No amount is too small. Every dollar helps! Please consider helping to support Susan in her healing journey. It will be challenging for her, as Addison's is not an easy disease to manage, especially when you are dealing with so many other auto-immune diseases and chronic allergies.
