JAX's Vet Bills

I usually wouldn't do this but I have no other options. My 7yr old Pitbull JAX had a stomach blockage a few months ago and was violently puking and refusing to eat for days. When we took him in he has evaluated and kept for 2 nights, eventually passing the object without the need for surgery. When he came home he was put on medication to help with his pain, nausea, and put on a strict diet. Over the last few months he has continued to have nausea issues and occasional vomiting, worsening in the last few weeks. Sunday morning we woke up to diarrhea on the carpet which is extremely unlike him. (he is usually very cleanly and will resist even vomiting until he can get outside if possible.) This morning I woke up to him trying to wake me up whining and shaking. When I sat up I realized he had multiple accidents and had vomited all over my bedroom floor. I ran him downstairs as he continued to be incontinent throughout the house. Long yucky story short while I was cleaning upstairs and trying to rush to not be late to work, he had began puking fecal matter and was uncontrollably going to the bathroom in the Livingroom. I rushed him to the ER vet( they were the only place that would take him currently) and checked him in. (10:00AM 12/22/2020) Around 3PM they called to tell us that unrelated to his incontinence he has a torn ACL(we believe from a fall he took down the stairs or when he missed the seat jumping into my truck) , arthritic knee, and arthritis in his hips. They had also done an x-ray and were unable to find a blockage or anything concerning and decided to do some bloodwork and get back to us. At this time they told us the cost alone for that evaluation was upwards of $600.00. Around 5pm they called to let us know that his bloodwork came back okay, however his white blood cell count is high, and he has swelling to his lymph nodes. With this discovery and the fact that they hadn't found a blockage they decided they need to do an ultrasound as well as scope testing to determine the cause of the incontinence, nausea, vomiting, elevated white blood cells and swollen lymph nodes. He is at the vet now, and is on a 48 hour emergency hold while they do the testing. As of right now his vet bill is currently $2,735.29 and that is without any treatment for whatever they find resulting from these tests. 

I adopted JAX December 2nd of 2016 to become my service dog for my general anxiety, depression, trauma, as well as social anxiety. I think Jax and I both knew he was my other half from the second we met. He came home with me and i was immediately lifted out of the darkness. Jax and I spend every minute we can together when i'm not at work. From couch cuddles, crying on the floor, him sitting his head on the tub while i have a breakdown in the bath. To long drives, sleepovers, bbq's, adventures, and playdates and walks and everything under the sun. We do everything together. Jax has gotten me through some of the darkest moments of my life, through traumas i have faced alone that even my family isnt aware of. Through depression, panic attacks, losing loved ones. Hes also been the best sidekick in the world on my happy days and singing and dancing and playing with toys and going to the park and the river and paddleboarding. When i'm away he even sits by the phone when im on facetime and barks and howls hearing my voice. 

Jax is the most kind, loving thing in my world. He knows i'm going to have a panic attack before i even know. He knows the body lanuage i have when im hurting. He knows the sound of my truck and waits at the door, he knows the sound of the ping on my moms phone that tells her ive entered the neighborhood and he sits at the door for me. He walks with no leash right by my side no matter the distraction because we refuses to leave my side. He is my bestfriend. 

ANYTHING helps, even if its a dollar. Covid hit hard, and i've been going through a really deep depression and he is there, always. And now hes sitting there sick and hurting and i feel so helpless when all the has ever done is be there and helped me.
