Hello.  As some of you know, a few years ago, my son and I were out riding our ATV's.  We were in an unfamiliar area when I came up upon a drop in the trail, and flew 45 feet down into a ravine.  As a result of this, my spinal column shattered from T2 to T10, my spinal cord has deteriorated, and my nerves have been damaged and severed. I am currently a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down with 2 steel rods in my back keeping me aligned and upright.  Over the past few years I have been dealing with some very intense nerve pain and pain in my shoulders, scapula's, and neck, skin breakdown, intense spazams, and pressure sores. I have been told by my doctors and my physical therapists that my body needs to be in a standing position many times throught the day, and that if all possible, I should get a standing wheelchair. I have done a lot of research into the Standing Company and their Standing Wheelchairs that they build, and I am convinced that if I had a standing wheelchair it would help prevent a lot of problems that I am having.  Not only will it help me with my neck and shoulder pain and my skin breakdown and pressure sores, it will help keep my internal organs inline and working properly, help keep my bones from demineralizing and my joints working properly, and also help with my spazams.  Unfortunately Social Security does not recognize this and will not pay or even help pay for any kind of a standing device or standing wheelchair.  It is very hard for me to ask, but I do hope that you will be able to help me raise the money I need to purchase and outfit a standing wheelchair for myself.  I can't say enough about the Standing Company.  They are great people and they are here in the US in Saginaw Michigan.  I encourage you to look them up at:  thestandingcompany.com  Thank you so much for your time and your consideration.
