Vet Bills for Rescued Dog

Donation protected
Four years ago I adopted a wonderful doberman who had been abandoned when she got too old to be a puppy-producer.   I'd had dobermans for 40+ years but Queenie is the best companion of all.   My only regret is that we didnt find each other many years ago.

Three nights ago she bloated (where the stomach twists on its axis) and underwent emergency surgery. The surgeon repaired the bloat and removed her spleen and part of her stomach (which had died due to lack of blood supply). I had to make a payment of $5,800 upfront but, after seeing what a state-of-the-art place it is, I'm confident that she wouldnt have survived anywhere else.

She's had a setback -- her heart stopped beating 36 hours after surgery.  Thankfully, they were able to revive her and then called in a cardiologist. The $5,800 I paid upfront was for only the surgery and an uneventful recovery.  Since the episode where she stopped breathing, her bills have totaled an additional $5,000.   The surgeon, at first, didnt give her much of a chance but Queenie's improved so much that her prognosis is now very good.

I know a lot of people will say that spending this much money on a dog is frivolous.   But I live alone and Queenie is my only companion.   I cant give up on her when she's fighting so hard to live.   Please consider donating and please say a prayer to St Jude (patron saint of hopeless cases) for her.  Thanks so very much.
