Biba's Chance to Live

I met Biba (Resmije Rahmani) in the city of Prizren in Kosova, she is only 34 years old. She lives with her 72 year old father and 67 year old mother, joined by her sister and brother. She was diagnosed with progressive muscular dystrophy at age seven (7) and has been suffering in this condition for straight twenty-seven years being dependent on her wheelchair. Biba lives on the first floor of her house because the ground floor is not livable. Her 72-year-old father carries her every day down and up so she could go out in the city, have a bit of normal life and volunteer in her organization  for muscular distrophy, to help other people with disabilities. However, every day her father is getting weaker and weaker, and a few days ago both father and daughter fell from the stairs and hurt themselves. Thus this is an urgent appeal to all of you to join me in helping Biba get a wheel chair ramp to be installed in her home, so she could move freely in and out of her house without having her father to carry her because he no longer can, and if he can’t who would help Biba move? Your solidarity can save Biba from being locked in the house and isolated from her peers. The wheel chair ramp with installation costs $6000, a small amount for the price of gifting the freedom to someone whose freedom is bound to the wheelchair.
