My Sisters Cancer Fund

Donation protected
On October 18th my sister found out that she has cancer in one of her reproductive organs. This news followed her finding out that she will no longer be able to carry a child full term due to her only having one functioning fallopian tube and having a deviated uterus. This came as a complete surprise to her, as she has had no pain and no signs of the cancer.

My sister is scheduled to go into surgery on December 22nd to remove the reproductive organ that is effected by the cancer, and have her one remaining tube tied to prevent pregnancy. That is the plan as of now, but we are still waiting to hear if she will need to have a full hysterectomy.

As you know my sister is a 30 year old single mom to my 9 year old nephew Anthony Paul, and has raised him on her own since day one. Alison is one of the most giving people I know, and has always put her family and friends needs ahead of her own, even if it puts her behind. She is known for her HUGE heart, and selfless mind.

Alison just got onto medical insurance in August through her work and this is the first time she has had to use her insurance. This is resulting in her paying out of pocket for most of this surgery, as she has not met neither the deductible or "out of pocket" requirements for her insurance to kick in.  She is required to have the balance paid on December 1st in order to have the surgery on the 22nd. This couldn't be happening at a more difficult time as we are nearing Anthony's 10th birthday, and the surgery is a few days before Xmas.

The funds raised will go to paying my sisters out of pocket expenses, and follow up care. Alison will be out of work from December 22nd to January 2nd. On January 1st her deductible will start over as it is a new year, so all follow up care will then become out of pocket as well. Any dollar amount counts. Please share this post and lets come together to support my sister during this incredibly difficult and saddening time in her life.
