Dear Friends,
It was with excitement and joy  that I got engaged at the tender age of 18, much as most of the young girls in my community.  With gratitude to Hashem and prayers for a bright happy future I prepared for my wedding.
Little did I know, how soon that fantasy world would come crashing down on my innocent, naive, young self.

Right from the start, in Yichud Room,  I realized that the chasan/groom, the man that had just put a ring on my finger,  branding me  an "Aishes Ish", and soon to be Aguna, is having severe emotional problems.
He exhibited erratic behaviour.  However,  since I was young and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, I suggested "we" go for professional help.  Much to my chagrin, he refused.  We were off to a very rocky start.   To add insult to injury he fabricated stories of me and spread slanderous gossip on myself, my parents, as well as my siblings.

My life-  the innocent, carefree life which I had known, and the blissful happy life of hopes and dreams shattered overnight. Instead of partaking of gourmet meals and donning my  kalla/bridal trousseau,  chaos and turmoil, sprinkled with vicious gossip became my daily food and clothing.

Merely five (5) weeks into my wedding day, the groom, by now a stranger to me, escaped to Israel with the excuse that he misses his Rabbi.  With a sardonic smile he said to me "Additionally, I need a  mini vacation from you".  My parents, sadly contacted our Rabbi and Askanum for advice in how to deal with the separation .

It is 18 months since, and I am still waiting for him to grant me a get/divorce;  freedom from this so called bondage of a marriage.  While most girls my age are going on with their married life, the single ones gradually finding their bashert and settling down, others dating and looking forward to a blissful future, I am in hostage, in limbo.

His family called me to Bet Din/Jewish Court.  And while my parents and I are glad some action -  albeit costly -  is being taken, I feel badly for my parents.  The cost of lawyers/judges fees as of last Bet Din date are astronomical.  As of today my parents have spent  upwards of $14,500.  We are still in need of approximately $15,000 to finish up till after the Get/Divorce.

He and his family keep on spinning lies but Boruch Hashem, with Gratitude to the Al-mighty, the truth prevails!

As a last resort, I am turning to you,  kind Jewish friends.   In the merit of your benevolence may Hakodosh Boruch Hu inscribe you & your family in the Book of Life.
May we be granted a sweet New Year with success, happiness, wealth and much nachas.  And at long last, live to hear sound of the Shofar Amen!!

We have established an account for your convenience.  With humble thanks and respect, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
