Jacob's Journey

Jacob is one and a half years old; he suffers from an undiagnosed auto inflammatory disease. It started when he was 4 weeks old; his symptoms consist of skin rashes, fevers, vomiting, swollen spleen, swelling of his hands and feet, cerebral atrophy, developmental delay, body aches and pains, and constant inflammation. He visits the doctor often and frequently checks into Children’s hospital, to keep his symptoms under control. He has been through lots of testing and blood work, but nothing has been diagnosed, and no treatment has worked as of yet. At the end of August, Jacob’s parents (Theresa and Nathan) received an invitation to a Hospital in Maryland. The National Institute of Health is a specialty hospital, which focuses on diagnosing and finding treatment for, auto inflammatory disease. Jacob and his family will be leaving September 20th to travel to Maryland, in hopes that he will be accepted into their program for further research. The flight, travel expenses, and missed work time, will be the financial responsibility of the family, so we have started this fundraiser, to try to help lighten the load. We want them to have a financially stress free experience, so they can focus on the comfort of sweet little Jacob, while he endures more testing and x-rays. Every little bit helps; you may be contributing to a snack in a waiting room, all the way up to them booking their flight, on your dollar. For anyone who knows this couple, there is no greater example of Gods love and humility, thankfulness and grace, in our community.
