Reggie is a son, a brother, an uncle, a loyal family member, friend and one of the most caring individuals who is suffering from Pulmonary Hypertension. He is currently in the UCSF Medical Center recovering from a DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT. This journey that Reggie is on has been both emotionally and financially taxing for him and his mom, who has left her home in Oklahoma to be with him as he goes through this process (I can't imagine what it is like for her, but my heart hurts for her, most of us will give our life for our children and she is doing just that).
Reggie is a young man who has spent his adult life doing research for World Health which speaks to his character of always thinking and looking out for others. Reggie needs our help, our prayers, and our donations to keep him here. But let's not forget the person who is holding his hand as he goes through this. His mom has been there, sleeping in his hospital room, holding his hand, trying to keep him smiling, and basically keeping him sane throughout all of this. And now that Reggie had his big operation on Tuesday and needs her more than ever, the ICU won't let her stay overnight by his side!! So she is facing the costs of hotel rooms near the hospital on top of everything else - travel, food, etc....
If you are reading this page and you know me, then you know that in the last year, I received a Heart Transplant myself after suffering from breast cancer which lead to heart failure. So I know all too well how expensive things are - especially the things that insurance doesn't cover. Like helping a mother stay by her son's side.
If you are able to make a donation it would be much appreciated. We need to support Reggie and to do that, we need to make sure that his mom is able to stay with him. If you are there in spirit, be there with a donation also, because that is the help we need right now. This is most of all for Reggie, because he would want you to help keep his mom by his side.
