Brody's Heart

Brody is a beautiful baby boy born on August 27, 2014, after over 24 hours of labor and an emergency c-section. Mom and baby were doing great! Brody had a little bit of jaundice and was treated in the hospital and after five days, Mom and baby were getting ready to be released. However, during routine testing the doctors found that Brody has transverse arch of the aorta. His heart is not properly oxygenating his blood. Brody was transferred to a hospital better equipped to care for him, where he has been on medication awaiting open heart surgery.  He is scheduled to have open heart surgery today (September 2nd) at only six days old. In addition to Brody's medical issues, his mom was also admitted back into the hospital with postnatal preeclampsia. Both Mom and Brody are expected to be okay, but are currently separated. Dad is with Brody during this time and is unable to work as he's caring for both Brody and Mom. I'm creating this page in hopes that we can raise money to help with Brody and Mom's current and future hospital bills, a portion of their meals and help with their bills at home until Dad is able to return to work. Anything helps, even if we can get 5000 people to donate just $1 we will have earned 50% of our goal. I am putting our goal at 10k to help cover some of the fees charged on this site as well, but anything helps!
