Transgender teacher & spouse fleeing Florida

Hi, everyone! My name is Jaycee (they/she). I'm a high school English teacher in Florida. As many of you are aware, the state has become incredibly hostile and dangerous to the LGBTQIA+ community. I've already faced professional consequences as a result of HB 1557 (AKA the "Don't Say Gay" bill) and I fear that my physical health and safety are at stake.

My wife and I are asking for help to flee the state of Florida. Between a minimum-wage job and a teacher's salary, you can imagine how we're struggling financially. We'd be grateful for whatever help you can provide.

We're certain that we have better and safer opportunities outside of Florida. As for myself, I want to get to safety and recover my physical and mental health so I'm better able to help others in the LGBTQIA+ community, especially its youth. Trans rights are human rights.

Omg i have no words! In a *single* day, generous donors gave us over $1200! We surpassed our initial goal! Hi, everyone. Next month, I'll be living and working in a new state. I have the job lined up, but we're still looking for a place to live. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we've had to dig into our savings to survive. This is why I've decided to increase the GoFundMe goal. Hi, everyone! I've been in this new city and state for about a week now, and I start working tomorrow! I'm currently staying at an air bnb until my wife and I find a home to rent.
