My resources are very limited, but I am pursuing every avenue I can. I have worked hard at Mcdonalds SA, TX, Taco Cabana SA, TX and even done some freelance photography, but any donations would be so helpful and appreciated. I don't ask you to feel sorry for me, for I know there are many who are far worse off than me. I only ask that you believe in my vision and I promise I will give my very best to succeed so that I may turn and help others like me.
I am a contributing author for Jamaica Medium Stories, actively encouraging other financially challenged youths to seek higher education. I teach them how to uplift themselves with education, to dream BIG, ACT! and be SUCCESSFUL. I believe that everyone who wants to learn, can learn and should be allowed to learn. By attending Conestoga, I will have a bigger, stronger impact. I hope to expand my reach, assist more people, share powerful stories that will uplift youths for many generations.
I am Shane Brown, from the poor rural community Dias, Hanover, Jamaica. A first-generation university graduate. I obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech), Raised well by a single mother, I was able to succeed in school. My mother was a phenomenal basic school/kindergarten teacher. She etched in my core the power of education. I was only able to pay for school through donations, scholarships, grants, debt. I also earned money for my UTech Tuition by working overtime.
I am committed to teaching other underprivileged youths how to do it too. To show them that they can uplift themselves through education and lifelong learning.
To achieve this goal effectively, I first need to master the art of global video communication. Conestoga's diploma in Broadcasting - Television and Independent film Production from is ideal. Their program places great emphasis on practical training that is both holistic and robust. Additionally, It will provide real-world experience in Ontario’s large film industry using the latest technologies. Thus, Conestoga’s will amplify my ability to uplift youths from rural communities in Jamaica and around the world.
