Dustin's Cancer Butt Whoopin'

Hi, family and friends!

I am sure many people will come to this page through my sharing on social media - I'm Leah, and I've created this fundraiser for my brother, Dustin. Dustin is 33 years old, and seems to get younger by the day.  A United States Air Force veteran, he served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and spent seven total years in the military both in the US and overseas. He is my only sibling, one of my grandmother's six grandchildren, and definitely one of the best people you'll ever meet.

In December, Dustin went to urgent care complaining of a severe headache and nausea.  Now, after brain surgery for tumor removal, a lengthy period of waiting for pathology results, and a lot of hoping and praying, we have been handed a diagnosis and a battle to fight: glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).  In plain terms, this is the most aggressive type of brain cancer.  We only have one option, and that's to fight back with all we've got.  This is where you come in.

Treating GBM will cost a decent amount of money, from chemo, radiation, possible clinical trials, to long-term dietary changes.  I am not ususally one to ask for handouts or charity, but this is my brother, and I cannot fathom a life without him. We all have our own personal saving goals to help Dustin along, but the help from our community is imperative as we face the time and monetary constrictions of this disease.  Any and all donations will be put towards medical and living necessities as we start on this journey. I am setting lofty goals, but I have faith that the love that Dustin has put out into the world will come back to him tenfold.

This is by no means the only way that we can be supported at this time. If you have the ability to make a monetary contribution, we cannot begin to thank you enough for your generosity and selflessness. If you are able to send thoughts, hopes, prayers, and words of encouragement, please know that this is already more than enough for us.

We will continue to post updates as they are available to us. Please check back in a few weeks, as I will also be posting a link to an Etsy shop where I will be selling handmade hats in Dustin's favorite color to help raise money.  We endlessly appreciate any and all support at this time - thank you, thank you, thank you.
