Dustin & Desiree Wiita Rebuilding Fund

Hi, my name is Kim Gregory, and Desiree Wiita is my niece. I am putting together this GoFundMe page on behalf of family and friends to help the Wiita family after a tornado destroyed their home. On the evening of May 12, 2022, a tornado hit their hometown of Alexandria, MN. Desiree, Dustin and their four children (7, 6, 2 and 5 months) were able to get out of the basement unharmed after the storm, with neighbors' assistance. It was utterly devastating to see their home torn apart. We are so grateful they are all OK. We know the house is a complete loss, and they will have to rebuild it. They are currently going through personal items in the place to determine if anything will be salvaged. The roof was torn off, leaving the contents heavily damaged by the elements and flying debris. Many things will have to be replaced. The costs will add up fast as they begin their new journey. We hope to get them back on their feet with help from family and friends.

This GoFundMe will allow family and friends near and far the ability to help them personally to ease the burden of starting over. Every little bit will help and go a long way for them. I have also created an account at their local bank as a second means to help. I realize not everyone is online to donate or feels comfortable doing so.
