We need your help! Dan and Sally, long time residents of Chatham County and biker enthusiasts, experienced a tragic house fire this week that also took their vehicles. Neighbors to For Garden Sake, this page has been created to help them rebuild their lives. With no house/car insurances, living with several current and long-term health challenges, and fixed incomes, we have an opportunity to help rebuild. Would you consider donating?
We have learned more about Dan and Sally through the help of many others. Through a devastating fire that took their home and vehicles last Thursday, they are always smiling and so sweet with one other still. Dan is 88 and still gets around although just a bit slower. He’s been deaf since birth but Sally helps us communicate with him and his smile will melt your heart. He loves tinkering in his barn and has a passion for Harleys. Sally is battling breast cancer right now and has Parkinson’s but she has more energy than most of us and all with such a positive attitude. She used to ride her own Sportster and that’s how she met Dan. For two people that have lost so much, they have so much to give with their kind, gentle and fun loving spirits. The small 751 community plans to do everything we can to help them stay on their property and rebuild although they had no home owners or car insurance. They are currently staying with their neighbor until things are sorted out and Dan needs to be near what’s most familiar to him. There is much to accomplish. Please consider helping these beautiful souls!!
